Sussex frustrated by conditions again

Just 18 overs were possible on the second day of Sussex's three-day match against West Indies at Hove today.

After the first day was washed out on Saturday play eventually started on a wet outfield at 2.45pm before the teams were brought off for bad light just after 4pm.

Sussex put the tourists in after Chris Nash won the toss and enjoyed relative success in the short amount of time that play was possible.

Kirk Wernars struck in his first over after replacing Naved Arif up the hill to remove Adrian Barath for 16 as the bowl rolled off his thigh pad and onto the stumps.

Luke Wells dropped a catch at third slip to remove Kirk Edwards for a duck off the bowling of Liddle but the left-arm seamer did get his man shortly afterwards. Liddle found the edge of Edwards' bat again and this time Nash took a good catch at third slip.

The umpires took them off shortly afterwards with the score 46-2 and Kieran Powell unbeaten on 19.

Guys, its frustrating all around the local cricket scene aswell. Loads of games have been called off over the past two weeks and during little drive around this afternoon I saw no sighs of any cricket. WE NEED A BREAK IN THE WEATHER !!!
