Albion head for the sun

Albion will head to the heat of southern Spain as they warm up for next season.

The Seagulls will spend a week at a highly regarded training base near Jerez from July 23.

Full details of the trip, which is likely to include two matches, will be revealed this week.

Gus Poyet's men will return to England a little more than two weeks ahead of their opening fixture, which will be a Carling Cup tie.

There only going there to drop off Vicente. Hopefully Poyet and most of the current team will stay behind with him for company.

What's right with Bognor!? Last time I went there I had the wheels nicked off my car...... whilst I was still driving.

At least there are only three to replace on a Reliant Robin.

I've seen HPR's Reliant Robin in Bognor. It was being driven by a very miserable little person. that's how I recognised him.

Isn't Jerez (de la Frontera) in South Western Spain - near Sevilla and in the province of Cadiz? As you can tell, I've just been researching! ;0)

Have been trying to pick a Spanish team to "support". Have it down to Xerex and Cadiz so this trip is VERY tempting! May be able to check out both if we play them.

It's by the coast too, so also tempting!

I'm a bitter and rollie man. I'm still in awe. The first 25 minutes at Portman Road in August made me believe. It was quality.

Let's hope the trip puts the lads into the right condition for another top start to the season. Without the Amex bounce this year it will be more difficult but thats what is needed. And with Saints, Reading and West Ham out of the league it will make things a bit easier. 2 big new signings in the summer will work wonders and make Albion genuine contenders next season.

Hi, SussexRam40, I like your optimism about not having to contend next season with Soton, Reading & (probably) West Ham. On the downside, we will have to contend with Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton, Charlton, Sheff Wed ... and Birmingham, Cardiff and Blackpool will still be in the mix ... added to which, you have to believe that Leeds and Leicester (and maybe Burnley) will finally wake up. All of which promises to make it a great season!

UTA!

And you were right to believe, as it turned out!

But more importantly, did you have the chance to neck a few Harvey's while you were in Brighty?! The ale of The Gods (more or less)!

Ah The Market Porter! Quality choice. Always a fave, that is.

Next time we meet (when we beat you in next year's FA Cup?!) you have to train it over and try The Evening Star in Brighty.

Ale tastic!
