It's a wash out at Hove

Sussex's match against the West Indies has been called off after just 34 overs were possible over the three days.

Play began on time today but only 16 overs were bowled before the rain returned at 12.13pm and the umpires took the players off.

It was hoped that the match could resume after lunch but a further downpour forced the umpires to call a halt at 1.50pm.

The whole first day on Saturday was washed out and only 18 overs were possible yesterday due to a combination of rain and bad light.

The tourists had moved from an overnight score of 46-2 to 90-3 in the morning. Naved Arif made the only breakthrough as he had Kieran Powell caught behind for 35 as he attempted to get his bat out of the way from a delivery that left him.
