Alex Macleish's ability outside Scotland is questionable, first Birmingham and now Villa! A change of manager for them is essential now! I have no idea about their financial position, but with the crowds they can attract when doing well, must provide potential for more quality. If Aston Villa come knocking then Poyet will go I am sure. The reality is, that they will not, as Poyet has some way to go to prove his credentials for that size of club.
The Daily Mail is a pathetic rag.

Although Villa is a plausable club for Gus to move to, he has only recently extended his contract. I don't think Villa will want to pay for the compensation fee to sign Gus up or the compensation to sack their current manager. They would most likely want to invest it in two or three new players.
WBA are not special enough and I see Wolves struggling next season as I expect them to lose a few decent players.
I just don't buy this one

Don't get me wrong I support Gus 100% and want him to stay but if I was a player considering signing for the Albion I would want to know that the Manager was fully commited to the club.
I know Gus is on a long contract but that looks like an insurance policy for the club and hasn't done anything to quell the rumours, everytime Gus speaks on the subject it becomes more 'complicated'
Why isn't there the same constant speculation surrounding Adkins or McDermott?

Probably because both Adkins and McDermott have just taken their teams into the Premiership. Speculation about Gus may be a nuisance, but it's also a compliment to the Albion and shows we're on everyones radar now, even the tabloids.
I for one would be extremely suprised if he was to go anywhere, at least for another season or two/three

They have already achieved and have far better track records.
Gus has unlimited potential but little experience as a Manager, for him it's all in the future. I just don't understand why he is the first name put up for any of these vacancies. Just worry all this speculation may unsettle players and hold us back.

The squad currently stands at 35. How many first team games are East, Taricco, Sampayo, Rossi Branco, Kasim, March, Rodgers, Hayward, Hoskins, Agdestein, Bergkamp, Barker, Dickensen and Goodwin going to play next season? I don't see any of these players breaking into the first team next season. I wouldn't go into next season with just 25 players.
As for Poyet joining Villa no chance. What has he done? He has bought a lot of medicore players which increased the squad to 50 players at one point. Martinez and Lambert are far more likely options as they have achieved far more on a similar budget to Poyet.

He has quite clearly stated that it would take a very special job to tempt him away, and this hasn't happened yet. It is up to you whether to believe him or not.
What some sections of the press choose to fill their sports pages with, in the absence of any actual football news is a matter for them, but I suggest that these stories be viewed with scepticism.
There is no way that Nigel Adkins would leave Southampton unless maybe if Liverpool showed interest, and I believe that an approach was made by Wolves for the services of Brian McDermott which was rejected.
Gus is also here to stay.

Uruguay currently occupy 3rd place in the FIFA World Rankings, (above Brazil and Argentina).
While the likes of Forlan and Suarez would be out of the frame, there are sure to be players in or around the squad who could do a job for us, and Gus is the man to convince them that B&HA is where their future lies.
Admittedly, there is a risk of players becoming homesick, and Montevideo is a bit further away than Nottingham, but hopefully there would be enough of them to minimise this effect.
Uruguay are in Group A with Great Britain for the Olympics, so if we move quickly, they will only face a short trip up the M23 to represent their country!

Alan Judge (Notts C) - a really talented and excited attacking player (seems to like the "inside left" position so could form part of a more proactive midfield five). Been dubbed "The Irish Messi"
Nick Powell (Crewe) - hugely talented but probably also sought after attacking midfielder. He's just what we need and has played for England with Jakey so would fit in nicely. Problem is Phallus Ferguson and Skeletor Moyes were both sniffing around recently and I can bet it's him they were scouting...them being there in person probably denotes the scouts have already reported back extensively to them.
Scott Allan (Taxdodgers) - looks a very good player and likely will be available along with the rest of Pimpey's squad.
Bialkovski (sp?) (Saints) - MAY be available after their promotion. Is young goalie with promise who simply hasn't got a look in. Saints fans' opinions seem mixed on him but those who don't mind him leaving don't seem particularly insightful. Just needs a chance and must be desperate for first team opps.

We really need to strengthen in that department if we are serious about promotion next time out.
The others are Sascha Riether, Pedro Geromel and Milivoje Novakovic.

Gai Assulin has been released by Man City, could he be one of our first signings?
Owen Hargreaves has been released by Man City, so is that old rumour is about to start again.
Brighton are favourites to sign Michael Owen, so that old rumour has already started again.
Drogba confirms he is to leave Chelsea but denies he is joining Brighton. There are wild rumours about him choosing to play in China instead.
Mourinho says Gus is the best man to lead Brighton into the Premiership so reluctantly signs a new contract at Real Madrid.

Do you reckon Wolves will bid for Rensing to reunite him with Stolbakken(sp?)?
I've heard of him but am not familiar with his GK'ing...HOW good is he exactly, do you know?

Rensings stat might be not that brilliant but with a non existing defense it's no real surprise. Imho only he and Podolski where the players who let Cologne hoping till the last game to avoid relegation.

No, tooo easy to follow them. I prever teams where I've to suffer. Brighton after Goldstone and FA-Cup final. And I love blue and white stripes. So here in Germany it's Hertha BSC Berlin.
Or is it just because I'm born and grown up in Berlin?
