  • "The only way Gus will get to go to a "special" club is to a Villa or even a West Brom and do well there - he is not going to go straight to a Chelsea or an Arsenal (unless as assistant). Think Wolves is a definite no-goer but Villa even with all their problems would be a good fit. Also don't forget West Brom have just provided us (rightly or wrongly) with the new England manager. There are certainly no guarantees that Brighton will be in the Premier League within the next two or three years and if Gus feels he has taken the club as far as he can, I would have no problem with him taking his personal career forward. He has done a fantastic job at the Albion and have thought for some time that the most important appointment would be as to who replaces Gus. May just be paper talk but bearing in mind he would have been tempted by Wolves when Mick McCarthy got sacked, there has to be a chance that there is some mileage in this story."
