Blades could move for Hoskins - if they go up

Will Hoskins is sweating on results in the play-offs as he waits to see if he gets an offer to return to Sheffield United.

The Seagulls striker is still interesting Blades boss Danny Wilson, despite a stop-start loan spell in the second half the season.

But The Argus understands United would only be in a position to make a move should they go up.

Hoskins ended his campaign early to undergo treatment on a double hernia.

He was not around when United missed out on second place in League One to rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Wilson is refusing to be drawn on his plans until he knows whether he is building a squad for second or third tier football.

But Hoskins would be out of his reach financially if Blades were still in League One.

They visit Stevenage tomorrow for the first leg of their play-off semi-final.

Nottingham-born Hoskins made four starts and came off the bench eight times while on loan, scoring two goals.

He later revealed he opted to go north because he was feeling homesick on the South Coast as he fought against persistent injury.

Meanwhile AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown has played down reported interest from Albion and Coventry in his playmaker Sammy Moore.

Brown said: “We have had no contact about Sammy and it’s one of our priorities to keep him here.”

Moore, 24, was previously with Ipswich and has a year to run on his current contract.
