Charlie hopes to avoid QPR

Hoops in danger: Charlie Oatway hopes QPR avoid a trip to The Amex Hoops in danger: Charlie Oatway hopes QPR avoid a trip to The Amex

Charlie Oatway has warned there will be no easy options in next season’s Championship.

But the Albion coach would love to see QPR avoid a trip to The Amex.

Oatway, a lifelong QPR fan, will keep a close eye on events in the Premier League as well as attending both League One play-off semi-finals as the Seagulls’ division for next season takes shape.

QPR go to Manchester City tomorrow with a two-point lead over Bolton, who are in the drop zone ahead of their trip to Stoke.

Oatway said: “Obviously I’d like QPR to stay up out of personal preference but it’s a tough ask, looking at who they’ve got.

“But, from Brighton’s point of view, I have no preference who comes down.

“I’m going to MK Dons today and the Stevenage game on Monday but whatever happens you will have big clubs involved in the Championship next season.

“It will be a harder league next season. But it would be nice to have a few more clubs from this end of the country!”

Sheffield United drew 0-0 at Stevenage in the first leg of their play-off semi-final last night.

Dont think we should worry who we play, with our much stronger team we can beat anyone.

He actually says 'Obviously I’d like QPR to stay up out of personal preference'. Hardly news, even for the Albion news starved thousands, bearing in mind his middle names.

It is just me getting nervous that Charlie Oatway is now being quoted on Brighton matters, and not Gus? Or am I just getting paranoid in the long break between competitive football for our team?

It doesn't matter who we play because we're going to have a miserable season that without doubt will end in relegation.

Gus will be a gonner no doubt. No great loss though, plenty of better managers out there, just not sure any of them would want to come to Brighton.

HovePark.

Go and play with yourself, cause no one wants to play with you any more.

On a brighter note, best season for years, the right players will be signed, and Gus will be with us for the next season, and what a season it will be.

Whoever we play guaranteed to be a great season, play off position must be the aim although could make automatics. Vicente will stay, another top forward with premiership experience to suppot CMS and the goals will flood in. Onwards and upwards.

I would suspect Gus is either on holiday or scouting, thus Charlie being the mouthpiece of the back room staff.

Every one needs a holiday, so Gus and Tanno may well be out of the country. I only wish HPR was, perhaps Teresa May could get him deported might be easier than AbuQ.

So Bolton, Blackburn and Wolverhampton in the Division next year, which is probably the best you could hope for TBO. I really hope we are able to keep the management team, make some good signings and up our game.

There will be tempation elsewhere for Poyet, you just wonder what would happen if Liverpool come knocking as I reckon Dalglish's days are numbered. He wouldn't consider Villa I don't think, but you never know.

Blackburn, Bolton, and Burnley, - Lancashire's answer to the Bermuda triangle.
I predict that a lot of points will go missing there next season.

Please - can we avoid pointless and slightly annoying speculation about whether Gus is going or staying.

No one - not even Gus, can predict which, if any, clubs will try and lure him away. If it is his wish to go, then it is time for him to go!!! Please leave it!

Do you constantly sit on this website waiting for new articles on the Albion to appear so you can troll it?

Like it!!

Think Villa or WBA would tempt Gus though. Hope news of signings will come about soon then we will have some sensible comments on here.

Following Joey Barton's dissgusting behaviour at the Man City game he should banned from league socker for life and QPR should be relegated for employing him.

I'd rather not be able to spell than have such a pathetic life like yours, with the only tiny bit of enjoyment I get is from being a troll.

I am sure you are right Captain Haddock.
Oatway is also quoted on another thread about the inevitability of speculation regarding Poyet during the summer. The media have to fill their pages somehow.
I think Poyet will still be here in August, although of all the clubs being bandied about I could see that Villa might be a temptation.

If (big if) Poyet were to go to Villa do you think he would try and sign Vicente for them ?

What's all this 'we' business? I thought you made it quite clear that you weren't an Albion fan?

And, seeing as you were picking people up on their spelling, your grammar needs some work. There should be a comma before 'that' and another one after 'doubt'.

We, as in, a season ticket holder, not a fan.
Is that enough commas for you?
