Just a word about the playoff final.W ham v Blackpool.I thought the Referee was shocking and so biased in favour of W.Ham.He allowed W.Ham to really bully Blackpool, and they got away with murder. All the bookings for Blackpool.Top Ref,laughable.
Not sure you were watching the same match as me, especially as there was only one booking & that was Vaz Te for taking his shirt off when he scored. We could do with a few more Howard Webbs in the championship"

El-Abd makes winning start with Egypt

Adam El-Abd’s international career is up and running with a win.

The Albion defender played the second half of Egypt’s 2-1 friendly win over Cameroon in Sudan tonight.

He went close to scoring, hitting the side-netting from a corner, and successfully came through a modest defensive test against a below-strength Cameroon side.

El-Abd partnered young Fiorentina defender Ahmed Hegazy at centre-back and was always looking to organise colleagues at opposition set pieces.

He made several interceptions and impressed with his physical presence.

The Brighton-born defender, whose father is Egyptian, also created a decent chance with a long ball.

El-Abd is hoping to make the cut for the World Cup qualifier against Mozambique, to be played behind closed doors in Alexandria on June 1.

The Pharaohs face Togo in a friendly on Tuesday and also hope to play Zambia later this week.
