El-Abd out of qualifier

Ruled out: Adam El-Abd Ruled out: Adam El-Abd

Adam El-Abd has seen his hopes of a World Cup debut with Egypt dashed.

The Albion defender has been told passport registering procedures will not be completed in time for the qualifier against Mozambique on Friday.

Egypt boss Bob Bradley revealed in The Argus yesterday there was a delay in processing paperwork for El-Abd, who was born in Brighton and has an Egyptian father.

So even Egypt's Immigration Service take their responsibilities seriously. Take note Home Secretary! Shame for Adam but i'm sure he will get another chance.

Agree with above comment....Just had a wade through Sky Transfers Centre and it seems there is a lot of movement of players in the Championship, just hope GP is not going to be left behind.

Careful what you say about transfers on here, I mentioned along those lines yesterday and got it in the neck.

No, what you ACTUALLY said was that "we were all sweating on transfer news", as if our lives depended on it.

I merely pointed out that I was perfectly happy to wait until the deals are done, as opposed to hearing about rumours, speculation and paper talk.

Bearing in mind last summer saw Hoskins, CMS, and Buckley arrive, to name just three, I'm pretty sure they club has things in hand...

He wouldn't have got chosen anyway. He played a bit part as a sub in one of the friendlies and failed to impress for a terrible Egypt side. Another waste of space that we could do without, local boy or not.

That's not what Bob Bradley said, whose opinion actually matters.

Bad luck Adam, bureaucracy trumps sport again.

Yep the same Bob Bradley that selected him in the first place. Funny that isn't it? Try reading what the impartial local press thought of him. Basically they said he was awful!

Sorry for Adam, As regards transfer talk, Theirs no way G P, isn't working behind the scenes to get the players he thinks he needs for the club. His style is doing this quietly and keeping his cards close to his chest.

Our local press, The Argus, said he impressed.
Opinions are like ar$eholes, everyone has got one, yours stinks though.

So why would a hater of the Albion and everything associated with it take time to read the Egyption press about one of its players?

Great player who I am sure would have done a decent job for Egypt. Certain another opportunity will come his way.

You said he wouldn't have been chosen. Do the local press choose the team then? Or Bob Bradley? I know you hate Brighton but at least get your bile right.

The response was positive anyway. Even leading one Egyptian fan to construct a youTube video of El-Abd's highlights - plenty of good tackles and what would have been an impressive assist if the receiving striker had been able to control a football.

And as for transfer speculation, I am impressed that Gus and TB don't start spouting off about this or that player until the deal is virtually done. There might be a load of transfer activity in the Championship already, but there is no point in buying for the sake of buying. Gus has made it clear he wants quality, and will wait to get the right man. Have faith people.

Yes! Someone who is having a lot of fun winding many up on this site, with confrontational and argumentative dialogue, designed to provoke a reaction. They are always successful in their objective and always will be, because they know that many are sensitive to negativity towards our beloved club. The key is to ignore if you find their postings offensive or enjoy some of the more amusing anecdotes which I do, with a smile on my face. As someone said previously, this is not the anti Christ, just someone enjoying themselves (perhaps a little sadly) at all of our expenses!

Blimey, you have really thought that one out! Must be the result of a misspent youth! Not right though. Hovite has been posting sensibly on here for ages, way before HPR began publishing his memoirs!
