Albion sign Kuszczak
9:01pm Tuesday 19th June 2012 in Sport By Andy Naylor
Tomasz Kuszczak has signed for Albion
Albion have made their first signing of the summer, landing former Manchester United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
The 30-year-old Pole has agreed a two-year deal following his release from Old Trafford.
Kuszczak has played in the Premier League for United and West Brom and had a spell on loan with Watford last season.
Albion boss Gus Poyet said: "There were clubs in England and abroad interested in Tomasz, but it says a lot for the ambition of this club that he wanted to sign for Brighton.
"We had been tracking his progress for some time and he will provide real competition to both Casper Ankergren and Peter Brezovan for the goalkeeper’s jersey this coming season – and that can only be a good thing for the team moving forward."
Don't miss an exclusive interview with Tomasz Kuszczak in The Argus on Wednesday.

Quality signing. Cannot really see much point in having both Brezovan and Ankergren as back-up so would imagine one will move on. Paul Jewell was only commenting in the last couple of days how desperate he was to sign him.....unlucky!!!
If one gets injured you still need a main man and a reserve...

This is great news if he's Brighton's new number one goalkeeper. Unfortunately if he's only a back up to Ankergren and Brezovan then he will be as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Love what he's said in the press release. Especially these snippets:
"The manager and coaching staff, the team, stadium, crowds, through to the plans for the new training ground, everything is geared up for playing at the highest level and I could sense that ambition to be a top club straight away.
"Also when I played against Brighton last season, while on loan at Watford, I was very impressed with the way the team played - it was totally different to the rest of the Championship and more like what I was used to at Manchester United.
"This team likes to pass the ball, they like to create, they are attractive to watch. The way Brighton play is the future of football. I had other clubs who wanted to sign me but my heart told me that this was the right choice.
...."The Premier League is where I want to be again and I believe I can get there with Brighton. This club is heading in only one direction, and I want to play my part in helping us get there."

Exciting signing who hopefuuly will command the goal area and encourage the defence like all good keepers.
Just Googled Tomas and his name is pronounced Kustak. Bit suprised he hasn't gained more caps for Poland, but I'm sure that will come now he's playing for a top club.
I accept I'm not the brightest in the world, but don't get the relevance of Monkeymark03's song about the war. Seems a bit Neanderthal to me

No, not proud. Why should I? Just made my smiling that it turned out so.
Btw I never had any problems with any British. Not here in Germany ot in the UK or in Spain. Normaly I've more problems with the behaviour of the German when they are on holiday. But perhaps that's because You watch Your own people more critical then the ones from other countries because you faer that it will come back on you.

markymark03, your song is entirely inappropriate, even if we had been playing Germany.
I can only think that you must have suffered concussion as a result of a moose's head or suchlike falling on you.
Don't mention the war!
Pte, and could it be more than coincidence that Blatter has just demanded goal-line technology as 'not an alternative but a necessity'
HovePark resident, I've started reading your comments again, because in the end, I couldn't resist watching you get egg on your face every day.
If you knew anything about football, it would have been obvious that Ankergren and Brezovan will be the ones providing competition for Kuszczak.
Your posts are becoming less vitriolic, and I predict that you will have 'turned Bertie' before the start of the season.
