new plans for the training ground were approved by the local parish council last week I believe so going foward now to the district council for planning approval. Residents still objecting it seems but it seems likely that nothing short of leaving an empty plot of ground will meet their approval. Fair play. If I wasn't a football fan I might well feel the same.
The local residents have to ask themselves, what would you rather live next to, a state of the art training facility not massively used and only during social hours in a disciplined orderly way or a housing estate of say 500 homes with a significant element of social housing, hundreds of extra cars, probably too buses and a Tesco Express, park with childrens play area, community centre with evening events.

Looks like a no brainer to me!
Excellent point, wish they`ed have had the same common sense towards the Amex!"

Albion appoint academy boss

Albion have appointed John Morling to the newly created post of academy manager.

The current Republic of Ireland under-17s manager, 38, will take up the role next week.

Morling joined the Irish international set-up in 2005 from Peterborough United, where he rose through the ranks of the club's academy.
