Eagles win but drop point
10:05pm Saturday 4th August 2012 in Sport By Brian Owen
Eastbourne secured another home win in the Elite League tonight.
But they dropped what could be a precious point in their quest for a play-off place.
Eagles beat Peterborough 47-43, wrapping up the win with a heat 14 5-1 for Cameron Woodward and Timo Lahti.
However star Panthers Kenneth Bjerre and Jason Doyle (guesting for Olly Allen) then sped away from the gate in the nominated race for the 5-1 which gave Panthers a bonus.
It was a hit and miss performance from Eagles, who were missing Lewis Bridger.
Joonas Kylmakorpi denied Doyle his maximum by beating him in heat ten.
But Kylmakorpi and Woodward were unable to provide the perfect end in heat 15
Eagles: Kylmakorpi 13+1 (6), Lahti 11+2 (6), Woodward 10+1 (6), Gustafsson 8+1 (5), Gizatullin 3+2 (3), Dryml 2+1 (4), Bridger r/r.
Peterborough: Doyle 15+2 (6), Sundstrom 11+1 (5), Bjerre 9+2 (5), Buczkowski 7 (5), Kurtz 1 (5), Kosciuch 0 (4), Jensen r/r.
