Hammond: I'll win over the fans
12:00pm Saturday 1st September 2012 in Sport By Andy Naylor
Great days: Dean Hammond celebrates a goal for Albion at Swindon in 2007
Dean Hammond has vowed to win back over the Albion fans after rejoining the club.
Hammond made a controversial move to Colchester at the end of the 2008 January transfer window, following seven years with the Seagulls.
The Hastings-born midfielder further upset supporters by celebrating a goal in front of them for Southampton at Withdean.
Hammond, back at Albion on a one-year loan from Saints, said: “I want to prove myself and get them back on side. I look forward to the challenge.
“I'm very different and I've grown up. One of the major reasons for coming back is the way the club play and the way they pass the ball.
“It's fantastic. I have played against them a few times and Brighton dominate games.”
Hammond will complete a boyhood dream by playing for Albion at The Amex after featuring in Southampton's 3-0 defeat at the Seagulls' new stadium in January.
The 29-year-old, who could make his first appearance in the home game against Sheffield Wednesday on September 14, said: “It's a different club now. The stadium is amazing and I can't wait to get going.
“I saw the plans when I was 15 and it's amazing to see it come to life. It will be a dream to play at this stadium as a Brighton player and I have been dreaming of that since a boy.”

Fair enough. Give him a chance - as he says, he has grown up. Let's do the same and start afresh. Him and Dobbie are gonna do good things. And the Spanish brigade, too. All looking good. Well done Dean for trying to get off on the right footing...
What a night though, check dobbie out on youtube looks like a top top finisher!

We have stron championship players with experience of promotion to the premier, this is the same formula that all recently promoted teams (other that West Ham last year) have used to go up. Players like Dobbie and Hammond can get us up, we will then need Premiership players when actually there! Get behind Hammond if you're a true Brighton fan!
No way josa did he want any of the players he has brought in,you lot have been bambozald, sorry spelt that wrong,he could have done the deal months ago for the ones he has got,put your hand on your heart and say you are excited with the scraps he has picked up?

Yeah right.
The guy needs to say sorry, he should do so in the next home match program, he should do so in his first media interview, and then it should be history.

CMS will run all day but he shouldn't have to, now he dosen't have to.
We have so many options now regarding how we line up, so many options of where the goals can come from.
Some might think that Gus didn't get the players he wanted, I am not so sure. Look at where we weak, look at what we lacked regarding options and now look at where we are. and include those signed some weeks ago.
Gus may have not known exactly all the names he wanted but he knew what type of player he wanted to give him the options he now has and he got them. Gus had a plan and that plan was formulated a long time ago, probably before the end of last season.
You don't formulate a plan with a list of names the plan is a list of, roles to be filled. Some clubs, in my opinion have bought names and now they have to work out how they are going to use those names. Brighton have bought the players to fill the roles and there isn't any working out to be done. Because we have bought "types of players," they will slip into their roles easily for all we asking of them is to do what comes natural to them.
Great work Gus.

So Campo do you agree with me that we must get a win today, a win with possibly one of our new players on the field.
I think we now have the capacity to push on and make our way up the table and a win today will send the lads into training over the next two weeks a mind to compete for places.
Gus has not changed the starting line up for the last three games and it will be interesting to see if he does today. Win lose or draw I think it certain that he will change things come the following match. Player rotation, formation rotation and keeping players fit will be the the key to a great season.

It seems to me that Gus had a plan to buy players that would allow him to rotate the squad and not lose anything by doing so, if anything he would gain. Vicente might not do 90 minutes these days but 90 seconds of his magic can get us a goal. CMS will run all day but he shouldn't have to, now he dosen't have to. We have so many options now regarding how we line up, so many options of where the goals can come from. Some might think that Gus didn't get the players he wanted, I am not so sure.
