Adams: Key decisions went against us
8:28pm Sunday 9th September 2012 in Sport By Steve Hollis
Midfielder Nicky Adams believes the key decisions went against Crawley as they went down 3-0 at home to Portsmouth at Broadfield Stadium.
Hope Akpan and Josh Simpson were both sent off for second bookable offences with the visitors taking advantage to score three goals in the final 16 minutes.
Ashley Harris, Luke Rodgers and Izale McLeod gave Portsmouth a win that did not look likely during the first half and Adams felt the scoreline flattered them.
Adams said: "I think the key decisions didn't go our way. For long spells we were the better side but the first sending off set us back a bit.
"Even then we were the better team but when we went down to nine it was not surprising that a decent Portsmouth side overran us.
"Nothing went our way. There was a foul on Dannie Bulman in the build up to their second goal and there was also a player offside for both the first and second goals. That is three mistakes from the officials and we got punished."
