Sussex go with young guns

Sussex have named a young squad for their final County Championship match of the season at Durham today.

Chris Nash captains an inexperienced side which is missing the likes of Murray Goodwin, Matt Prior, Ed Joyce and Luke Wright and contains seven players who are 24 or under.

Joyce is on international duty with Ireland so Nash leads the side for the first time in a competitive match.

Goodwin is left out after it was announced he would be leaving Hove at the end of the season with Sussex opting to take a look at the likes of Matt Machan, Will Adkin and Kirk Wernars instead.

Machan and Adkin have not played a Championship game all season while Chris Liddle comes in for his first Championship appearance since April 2008.

Sussex need to win and collect two points more than Somerset manage against Worcestershire to finish as runners-up in division one.
