Richie Barker has been pipped to the League One manager of the month award - by his old boss.
The Crawley chief missed out on the August prize to Ronnie Moore of Tranmere.
Moore was Barker's manager at Rotherham in the Championship during the current Reds boss's playing days as a striker.
Ian Holloway of Blackpool was named manager of the month for August in the Championship.
His side's first setback of the season, at Leicester, did not come until September 1.
Gillingham's Martin Allen took the honours in League Two.
