Orlandi gets first start

Albion have handed recent signing Andrea Orlandi a first start for the club.

The former Swansea winger comes in for Ashley Barnes at Watford this evening.

It is the only change from the side which started against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday and means Barnes, scorer of the winner here in the FA Cup two seasons ago, is on the bench.

Joining him among the subs is midfielder Ryan Harley at the expense of winger Kazenga LuaLua.

Boyhood Watford fan Craig Mackail-Smith has recovered from a tight thigh which forced him out of the 3-0 win over Wednesday.

Andrew Crofts , Vicente and former Watford striker Will Hoskins are all on the injured list.

A win can take Albion top although they would need helpful results from Blackburn and Blackpool, where Barnsley and Middlesbrough are the visitors respectively.

Watford have lost their last three games but went down battling in their 2-1 reverse at Bolton on Saturday.

Watford: Almunia; Cassetti, Nosworthy, Neuton, Pudil; Hogg, Abdi, Yeates; Forestieri, Iwelumo, Vydra. Subs: Bond, Doyley, Chalobah, Smith, Hoban, Beleck, Forsyth.

Albion: Kuszczak; Bruno, Greer, El-Abd, Bridge; Bridcutt; Hammond, Dicker; Buckley, Orlandi, Mackail-Smith. Subs: Ankergren, Calderon, Dunk, David Lopez, Harley, Barnes, Dobbie.

Referee: Darren Drysdale (Lincs)

I don't see this as a surprise, in fact it makes good sense. Watford, in their last match, gave away so may free kicks and Orlandi can drop the ball on a dime. I also think that he might offer a tad more physical strength than Barnes and that could be needed tonight.

Is KLL injured then? Why Harley?

Because we have less central cover without Harley? Or maybe it's just to protect KLL's recently operated-on injury.

If I were KLL and I had fully recovered from that minor op, as it was suggested even prior to the Wednesday match then I would be seriously - but seriously - pee'd off by seeing Harley on the bench.

Orlandi to start is a good move by Gus as an unknown as far as Watford is concerned. Barnes will feature in the second half I am sure and will be fired up to complete the killer finish. I am so confident of a 2 nil or more to the Albion.

Orlandi will fill the Kazenga roler, it looks like Harley is there to cover Hammond.

Well three more points, can't wait to read the match report as it looks as though it was a battle, a bunch of yellow cards.

Did any of you guys follow that match on the BBC Text service and if so, did you have the possesion dial on your screen?

I clicked on every match and found it but on our match, it wasn't there, same thing last match too.

Phew! 3 points. Hooray

Sounds from the commentary that we rode our luck after squandering four clear cut opportunities in the first half and the ref not giving two or three solid Watford penalty appeals (including one stone wall penalty).

It also sounds as if Barnes was sulking when he came on (because he was dropped) and almost cost us with another show of ill discipline (kicking out after he missed a chance). Lucky boy! I hope Poyet drops him again now as a lesson and reads the riot act. Prat! And just as he was winning me over with his performances.

Poor old Barnsey already on 4 yellows it shows He needs to rein in the aggression. These are the games that will shape our Season getting 3points whilst not playing well.

Yes I had it - never sure it is that accurate but ended up 50-50. It was about 88-12 Watford at one stage which must have reflected their fast start

No problem with the possesion dial over here vegas. Can you not listen to the game on Seagulls Player? Sounded like we got lucky, they should have had about 4 peno's according to commentators. Anyway, we need some luck to win this league. All looking good.

I have an issue with the speakers on my pc, they don't work, so player is not much use to me. I need to replace the whole deal and will one day.

So against Wednesday we dominated and all had a great match. Tonight we had a battle and had some luck, there will be more of these types of matches this season as it continues.

Penalty shouts have a habit of evening out over the season so I am not worried about how many Watford should have got.

Anyone want to bet that saturday we show our class again. So six points now six to go to make this month a real good one.

The speakers have gone on my PC so I just listen through a headset.
