Sussex trio help England reach semi-finals

Sussex trio Holly Colvin, Arran Brindle and Sarah Taylor all contributed as England beat India to book their place in the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka.

Left-arm spinner Colvin took 1-30 from her four overs and seamer Brindle 1-6 from one over as England resticted Australia to 116-6 from their 20 overs.

Taylor then made an unbeaten 25 from 15 balls as England chased down their target for the loss of just one wicket with 17 balls to spare.

The Sussex wicketkeeper hit four boundaries and shared in an unbeaten partnership of 40 with Charlotte Edwards who top scored with 50 not out.

England play their final group game against Australia on Monday but are already guaranteed to go through.
