Reds get their timing spot on

Boss Richie Barker admits Crawley scored at crucial times in their 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at Broadfield Stadium.

Hope Akpan gave Reds the lead after 32 minutes and Joe Walsh doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Lee Barnard pulled one back early in the second half but Nicky Adams restored the two-goal cushion in the 62nd minute to snuff out any chance of a comeback from the Cherries.

Barker said: "It was a good time to score the second goal and the third came at an important time too. If they had scored it they would have had the momentum but we got it and got even better from that point.

"We had to play to the conditions. There was no point going out to fizz the ball around and making mistakes.

"We set out with a gameplan to win the ball back in certain areas. In the second half I thought we were absolutely excellent but we had to earn the right to play like that."
