Dave Brooks has announced his resignation as chief executive at Sussex – and vowed to see the county into 2013.

Brooks will leave the club at the end of the year but insists he will be happy to stay a bit longer if needed.

He has been in the high-profile role at Hove for almost four years and supervised redevelopment of the PROBIZ County Ground as well as success on the pitch.

Brooks said he was happy at Sussex but added: “It feels like the right time to move on.

“If a replacement is not in place you will probably still see me here in January keeping things moving forward.

“If you get the winter right it makes the summer a lot easier.”

Sussex plan to interview applicants during November and are preparing an exciting 2013 season which will see them host the Australian tourists.

There is a full, revealing interview with Dave Brooks on his time at Sussex in The Argus today.
