Bruno beaten to award
11:40am Friday 12th October 2012 in Sport
Albion right-back Bruno has been pipped to the Championship player of the month award.
Former Seagulls striker Glenn Murray won the September prize after scoring six goals for Crystal Palace.
Bruno and Leicester defender Wes Morgan were among the three players shortlisted for the accolade.
Ex-Albion boss Micky Adams, back in Brighton today for Charlie Oatway's Lunch Of Legends, won the manager of the month award in League Two for his work in charge of Port Vale.

Normal service has resumed, so enjoy looking up at the table at us and I am thoroughly looking forward to another three points and further liberties taken when we come down to yours again.

This just further highlights the striker fiasco at the Albion. We have the best defence in Championship and probably thje best midfield if everyone fit but possibily the weakest striker force.

Glenn showed his humility and professionalism by not celebrating after scoring agaist us, last season.
Have the decency just to say: "Well done Glenn." And leave it at that.

Letting GM go at the time was mad - we have not replaced him and have spent 18 months trying to get a similar player - would Soton have let Lambert go or Norwich have let Holt go straight after getting promotion - of course not.
This just further highlights the striker fiasco at the Albion. We have the best defence in Championship and probably thje best midfield if everyone fit but possibily the weakest striker force.
Anyway, it's only early October, by the end of the season this little award will matter not a jot, and Albion will be heading for higher levels. Murray's side on the other hand, will be settling back to the lower half of the league again.
The striker situation is not a fiasco. We simply will not take just anyone to fill the spot, and rightly so.
Hurry back Will Hoskins!

I judge that without extra strike power its going to be a long hard season and not what the tremendous fans of BHA deserve. Fingers crossed I am wrong but lets be very clear Gus Poyet has said for 18 months we desperately need reinforcement up front and it has not happened.

Seriously though, Palace got the better of Albion that day, no complaints.
It's great that both teams are where they are, and we should have two great matches to enjoy this season. The best of yours against the best of ours - just as it should be. Then we'll all have to wait and see where each team ends up (and just how far below us Palace are...)

Are you implying that you only sing when your winning, Haddock? Your fans were marginally better than your team that evening. Dream on regarding beating us this season.

I happen to believe we sing louder when winning than you do though its hard to be sure as I'm always at the derby matches and as you know if there's decent noise in your end of the ground you can't hear the opposition.
Stick around you Nigels....will be a bit of fun in the run up to our Dec match...only a few weeks to go!
(Oh and we WILL beat you...my guess is 4 pts out of 6...revenge!)
