Barker delighted for matchwinner Adams

Nicky Adams scores Nicky Adams scores

Crawley boss Richie Barker admitted he was delighted for Nicky Adams and sorry for his old club Bury after winning 3-2 at the Broadfield Stadium.

Adams hit the winner deep into stoppage time with what he admitted afterwards was an intended cross.

It was his second of the game and fifth in his last four starts.

Barker, who joined Crawley from Bury in pre-season, said: "I thought Nicky was fantastic today. I'm delighted for him as he started in Bury's youth team and I'm sure he was going to get some stick.

"To score two goals and set one up, I'm delighted for him although the second one was a fluke."

Bury, who remain bottom of League One, fought back to level form 2-0 down and threatened a winner.

Barker said: "The fans gave me a bit of stick and I'm sure I will get more when we go back there but the players are fantastic, they were great when I was there and great with me since and I did feel for them today. When you are at the bottom that is the bad luck you end up getting."

Wasn't at the game today but it sounds like a cracker and once again CTFC get some luck just when needed. That's 2 injury times winners ths season !
Its still far too soon to talk of play offs but there is that now familiar promotion feeling crackling around the Reds fanbase.
Another huge test awaits when we travel to the Monkey Hangers of Hartlepool on Saturday. I will be on the coach leaving the Broadfield at 6.30am !

Crawley has done remarkablywell over the last few years, but how on earth are you going to finance a Championship club on less than 4,000 gates. Good fortune to you anyway. It would be great to have two Sussex clubs in the Championship. That is if The Albion do not get promoted to the PL this season.
