Buckley back at full power

Will Buckley has declared himself back to full power and ready to help get Albion flying again.

The winger is relishing a return to his native North West as the Seagulls go to Blackpool on Saturday.

Buckley’s performance was the highlight of the 1-0 defeat at Leicester on Tuesday.

It was the first time in five matches he had played 90 minutes and a return to the starting line-up after going off injured at Derby before the international break.

Buckley said: “I feel like I am back on track and hopefully I can take that into Saturday.

“It was a hamstring problem which the physio has had a look at.

“I worked hard in the two weeks running up to the Leicester game and it is hopefully sorted now.”

Buckley admitted he was not fit enough to start last Saturday’s defeat by Middlesbrough.

He would love the chance to play at Bloomfield Road, where he will be supported by family and friends from Lancashire.

The 22–year-old added: “The gaffer just held me back a bit because I wasn’t fit enough to play a whole game.

“I could do a job for the last 20 or 25 minutes.

“Hopefully I’ve proved now I can play the 90 minutes and get back to my best.”

Good to hear--but ALL the players want to get back to their best and start scoring some goals and winning games, before a slump really sets in. They all want to start games as if their lives depended on it and hit the opposition hard as they can and get THEM on the back foot---not US!! UTA

Prediction for Saturday.Blackpool 1 Brighton 0.Or if we get a lucky deflection from a shot by Michael-Smith or Buckley Blackpool 1 Brighton 1.

Is this 'Michael Smith' related to 'Mackail Owen' by any chance? ;-)

Excellent news. The game against Blackpool is very hard to call. We're both having a bad run of form, we both play in one way only (albeit slightly different to each other), neither of us have a plan B, we're both being beaten in the same way by sides so .... anything from 0 -0 up to 6 - 6 and all home, away, win, draw, lose permutations inbetween!

it was awful at leicester,we never have have enough bodies in the box when the ball is delivered and its not accurate enough,,birmingham,i
pswich,derby, middlesborough,leice
ster, have all looked identical in the way we play, not one bit of urgency to get bodys forward, and it wont change till we aquire another forward, i and certain other people are getting a bit cheesed of in forking out for away games, travel costs and tickets, not to mention food, are now becoming a queston do need to spend another £125 quid this week to watch that ..gus is bored what does he think we feel like..!!!

What I don't understand is: why do we at times, continue to play a game best suited to having giant forwards? For example: 10 corners against Middlesborough and each one was pumped high into the box. Nine were won by Middleborough. One landed fortuitously on the head of an unmarked Hammond - which means it could have gone anywhere! And it did - nowhere near the goal.

If we don't have a big striker who makes his presence felt in the box, let's play a game suited to smaller, more mobile players - and get forward in numbers.

I didn't go to Leicester but I read the opposition had 12 out of 15 shots on target. Against Middlesborough we manged 4 out of 16, so BHA are exaxtly the opposite of the League leaders. For those of us going to Blackpool, we'd like more entertainment from our side than theirs. Shooting practice for the first team this week, please.

What a wonderful optimist you are. You must be a bundle of fun.

The MLS season is coming to a close and some decent goal scorers might be tempted with the offer of a short term loan.

Chris Wondolowski 27 goals, Alvaro Saborio 17, Robbie Kean 16, Kenny Cooper 16 and Eddie Johson 15.

Cooper or Johnson would both fill the elusive target man vacancy on a full time basis if we could buy them, and yeah, I would buy both if I were Gus.

come on Gus start playing someone else than your precious barnes, i will call him not MR barnes BUT mister barnes, cos hes missed a pen, why hit it low cos when keeper guesses right hes saved it again mister barn door, also with only keeper to beat, in 3rd min of extra time he blasted it wide.. How Gus can you reconcile playing barn door when he keeps missing.... your argument as a deep lying forward has worn thin now..MY faith is now wearing a bit thin ....its now affecting our passing game cos thats even going astray now..please gus do something...
