Seagulls make one change

Dean Hammond returns today Dean Hammond returns today

Gus Poyet has decided against attacking changes as Albion seek a return to the goal trail at Blackpool today.

The Seagulls boss makes just one switch to the side which lost at Leicester in midweek.

It comes in midfield where Dean Hammond replaces Gary Dicker.

Andrea Orlandi returns to the subs’ bench after recovering from a calf injury which kept him out of two matches.

Former Blackpool star Stephen Dobbie is also on the bench.

Blackpool have rewarded Elliot Grandin for his game-changing outing off the bench against Nottingham Forest in midweek by naming him in their XI for the first time in ten months.

Blackpool: Gilks; Broadfoot, Evatt, Baptiste, Crainey; Osbourne, Angel; Grandin; Ince, M Phillips, Taylor-Fletcher. Subs: Halstead, Harris, Basham, Gomes, Sylvestre, Dicko, Delfouneso.

Albion: Kuszczak; Bruno, Greer, El-Abd, Bridge; Bridcutt, Hammond, Crofts; Buckley, Barnes, Mackail-Smith. Subs: Ankergren, Dunk, Calderon, Dicker, Orlandi, David, Dobbie.

Ref: Mike Naylor (South Yorkshire).

Einstein defined madness as 'doing the same thing again and again and ecxpecting a different result'. Gus has picked the same team and expects it to score goals. Perhaps he will prove to be a man of greater genius than Einstein. Hopefully today's result will show that to be the case.

For those who cannot make it to the game there is live coverage on the internet via thefirstrow.eu/. I have watched this on a regular basis and it has never caused any problems (if you avoid the pop-up ads as it comes on line... Enjoy. Don't get too bored!!!

Somewhat overwhelmed by being the first poster on this thread and totally under-whelmed by this team selection... I know a lot of fans are not too keen on Dobbin but i would have thought this was a great opportunity to see whether he really is interested in wearing the colours?? Hope I'm proved completely wrong and we win 3-1 . UTA

Well--I have to eat my words, BHA did score first and I guess we do need a bit of luck, they all count but not exactly a 'well worked goal' but a goals a goal however it comes. I guess Blackpool is not the easiest place to go and I am sure Albion expected a tough game--which it seems they got. But a well ground out 1 pointer. ---however the big problems still exist. I see other teams in this division scored 3 and 4 goals--home and away so there are decent strikers. Sure, Gus will be more relieved than pleased with the 1 point but he and the Team have a lot more work to do to restore confidence that we are going to be a team to be reckoned with. Hope M-S is OK for the next game or we will be even thinner on the ground as far as forwards go---unless of course Gus makes a killing in that dept this week!!
