GUS Poyet has branded Albion’s wasteful draw against ten-man Wolves as their worst result of the season.

Poyet was appalled by his team’s failure to secure all three points in the 3-3 stalemate at Molineux after Wanderers had skipper Karl Henry sent off just before the break.

The Seagulls let in two second-half goals, including an injury-time equaliser, having scored themselves in added time through a Stephen Dobbie penalty. Poyet told The Argus: “A draw was not good enough for us. It was the worst by far in terms of not getting a result, nothing to compare with it. “Not Swindon, Hull, Leicester, Blackpool where we were terrible and got away with it. It was too easy and we didn’t do it.

“It was very, very disappointing.”

Henry was dismissed by referee Scott Mathieson for a tackle on Liam Bridcutt, the fourth time the midfielder has been sent off in as many seasons.

Poyet said: “It was a red card. He (Henry) is a player who normally commits and I like him, I like a strong player.

“Unfortunately for him he was just over the ball. Ask Liam to show you the two shins, not one, both. It was very, very dangerous.”

Albion will assess the fitness today of Wayne Bridge, who was forced off late in the first half.

“Apparently his calf was getting tight,” Poyet said. “I don’t know if it’s an injury or not.”

The Seagulls’ third draw in four unbeaten games kept them in eighth spot, three points behind Saturday’s sixth-placed hosts Huddersfield.
