Albion and Bolton will meet for the first time in almost two decades today.

The Seagulls scored a notable double over a Wanderers side heading for automatic promotion from the third tier when the clubs last met back in 1992-93.

On-loan striker Steve Cotterill and defender Ian Chapman scored in an early-season 2-1 success at the Goldstone in front of just 6,205.

There were 8,929 at Burnden Park to see Kurt Nogan get the only goal of the return fixture in January. The Seagulls finished ninth while Bolton were runners-up to Stoke.

The teams have met 12 times in all with four wins apiece plus four draws.
