Albion's development team tumbled to a 4-1 defeat against Swansea at The Amex tonight.

Kazenga LuaLua, restricted to a watching brief in the first team for much of the season so far, had a run-out as the Seagulls' three-match unbeaten run without conceding a goal came to an emphatic end.

LuaLua crossed for Anton Rodgers to drill in an 85th minute consolation but they were a well beaten side by that stage.

Former Cardiff prospect Kurtis March gave Swansea a 16th minute lead with a fine solo effort after intercepting Rodgers' pass.

Albion fell further behind to the slick Welshmen five minutes later, a curling free-kick from 30 yards by Lee Lucas beating Daniel East into the top corner, even though the keeper got a hand to it.

Luke Williams' Seagulls threatened a revival after half-time but Rory Donnelly nodded in Swansea's third on 62 minutes after East parried an acute angled drive from Premier League regular Danny Graham, making his comeback from illness.

Graham tapped in Swansea's fourth (82) from Donnelly's square pass.

Albion (4-1-2-3): East; Akubuine, Jones (Barry 84), McGiveron, Sampayo; Richards; March (Peake 76), Rodgers; Agdestein, Goodwin (Cousins 76), LuaLua. Subs not used: Smith.
