Bridcutt keen to lose draw specialists tag
9:00am Saturday 15th December 2012 in Albion By Andy Naylor
Liam Bridcutt feels Albion's performances deserve more wins
Liam Bridcutt has urged Albion to get rid of their label as the new draw specialists of the Championship.
The Seagulls have lost one but won only three of their last nine outings ahead of Nottingham Forest’s visit to The Amex today.
They came from behind twice to draw 2-2 at Charlton last Saturday, their seventh stalemate in 13 matches.
Midfield general Bridcutt said: “Performance wise we have been up there but with the results and scoring goals and getting the wins it’s not quite there yet.
“We’ve had a lot of draws. We need to start winning games and maybe we can start doing that on Saturday.
“We were a little bit disappointed with our performance and the result last weekend but we’ve had a good week of training and all the boys are looking forward to the next game and playing at home.”
The clash with Forest launches a run of three games out of four at home, which ends with the final fixture of 2012 against one of Bridcutt’s former clubs Watford.
Albion also host Millwall next Tuesday and Bridcutt believes they have now earned the respect of the rest of the Championship approaching the halfway point of their second season back in the second tier, especially at The Amex.
He said: ‘Sides now set out to try to stop us playing. That is a great feeling for us because it shows they have got a bit more respect for us.
‘We’ve probably had two bad performances in the whole season so far. Last season we had a lot more. We are a stronger squad and a bit wiser to the Championship now. We know what it takes to be at the top.’

Hopefully we will get that forward who hits the net 15 times for us for the remainder of the season.

Time we matched our performances with goals, we creat so many chances compared with last season, now not taking them! Our football has been good enough to have picked up at least ten more points,
Hopefully we will get that forward who hits the net 15 times for us for the remainder of the season.

We´ve just had so many squandered chances it beggars belief
This league is so tight that anyone who puts a little run together is right up there
Nows the chance to show that we are serious about a promotion effort and send out a few signals to the great pretenders
Hope everyone rocks the Amex today good times ahead

From what i understand we will have the players in place to take us up in Jan.Plus on even better note some of the freeloaders will be out & playing lower league football again where they belong.Good times.
From what I understand Gus is ready to do business, and that's it.
Whilst I would not wish to question the validity of what you say I do wonder, do you have access to privy information?

He says he will go to either spain or germany, but then again agents talk alot of nonsense and maybe ferguson would rather he came to us. Still i would rather see kenwyne jones as he is a proven goal scorer at this level. Still smith is in form lets just hope norwich dont buy him.
Rumour regarding Federico Macheda (Man U) might be on his way here.

Where are the goals NOT coming from, well our back four don't seem to be able to head the ball in from corners or set pieces.
Hammond scored a few weeks back from mid-field, one goal from him is not enough but it's more than some of the others.
CMS, I think he has equalled his tally of last season so we can't bang on about him too much, and he missed a few games.
Barnes, Hoskins and Dobbie, all three are lacking in the goals scored department, and Buckley has gone a tad quiet.
It's great to create but it's even better to finish.

Three points today is a must from my point of view if we are going to be contenders. Apart from what it would do for our points tally, it will send out a message to those above us, be afraid, be very afraid, Brighton are coming on strong this Christmas.

Tug how will Poyet line us up today, same as last week or something akin to what we normally do, tell me mate.
I put a post on one of the other threads that, like you,i hope we start with the same side as last week, only take a few more of our chances.
Billy sharp was gifted with a new son on Friday,so as if he wasn`t going to be trouble enough anyway,he will want to mark the occasion.
It looks like we will have Bruno available, and Dunk is back from suspension. Simon Cox is in contention for Forest, but their fans are worried its too soon to risk him,i hope thats the case because they make a very good pairing up front.
As i say, i agree with you,we have to start with the same attack minded team that Gus played at Charlton. With the 26,500 or so at the Amex, we surely wont squander so many chances again. According to their local press, they see this as a chance for revenge, after losing 1-0 late on in last seasons game, but i think we will win a close fought tie. My guess 2-1. UTA

Of course the three of us could be totally wrong and Gus will come up with a line up than surprises us all, including Forest.
