Gus Poyet hailed a clinical Albion performance as they won 3-0 at Ipswich today.

The Seagulls ended a five-match sequence without a victory as Dean Hammond, Craig Mackail-Smith and Wayne Bridge netted at Portman Road.

It was their first clean sheet away from home in seven games.

Poyet said: “The most important thing is to come back to winning ways. It took so long.

“Funnily enough it was not our best game but we were professional, we defended well and we made it very difficult for them.

“I think we were difficult to beat and, for the first time in a while, we were very, very clinical. That is the key in football nowadays.”

Poyet confirmed right-back Bruno missed the match due to a recurrence of an Achilles injury which ruled him out of two recent home games but praised stand-in David.
