Birmingham keeper happy with a point
1:34pm Sunday 20th January 2013 in Albion By Howard Griggs
Jack Butland clears from Will Buckley
BIRMINGHAM’S man-of-the-match viewed a draw with Albion as a success.
Jack Butland, the 19-year-old England international, produced a stunning late save to deny Dean Hammond as well as a fine stop to keep out Andrea Orlandi’s free-kick earlier in the second half.
He said: “That is what I am here for, to try to help out the team when I can and thankfully it helped us on the way to getting a point.
“Brighton’s away record is incredibly good. We were at home and would have liked to have got more but against a very good Brighton side it is a very good point.”

Even a point against Blackburn wouldn't be that bad.
Middlesbrough have lost the last 3, Palace have only won 2 in 10.
We may have to win the last 2 games of the season for the play off place, but the fat lady hasn't even called a taxi let alone sing.

wiseman, we have to go on a winning streak, win, lose or draw against Blackburn. 2 wins in a row would be good for starters.
Looking forward to the Arsenal game to see if Gus will throw on Vicente and Ulloa from the start.
I think we will get smashed in this one either way. I don't fancy the El Abd Walcott dual, but I hope he tweaks his nipples and pats him on the head for the whole 90. El Abd will win that battle I'm sure ;o)

No it was nothing to do with that. I totally understand the cost issue but this fan said it was because he thought we would get hammered every week. Now that opens a whole debate that I'm sure none of us want to get into but still totally ridiculous.

I think a point at Blackburn will keep us in the mix but if we come away empty handed, then reaistically, we will have to on one hell of a winning run to get in the playoffs.

I remember posters a couple of months ago stating that we woud not want to go up prematurely and be a Reading or Soton, who were both struggling. Well, Reading have got a chance of staying up and so have Soton - tho' I'm not so sure after Adkins disgraceful dismissal.

Using such terms is to suggest that the contrary view is somehow 'pie in the sky' - or 'unrealistic'
That's just rhetoric!
