Blackburn v Albion - live from Ewood Park
This live event has finished
- Full-time: Blackburn 1 Albion 1
- Vicente starts in place of CMS
- No Ulloa, Dicker returns
- Rhodes scores penalty
- David hits late leveller
- Three pages in The Argus tomorrow
That's it, 1-1 full-time. Albion did not really deserve a point but we will certainly take it. Late penalty coolly dispatched by David for his fourth goal of the season. Thanks for joining me.
Albion equalise in 96th minute as David is fouled by Goodwillie for a penalty which DAVID coolly dispatches
Will be 5 mins added time. It's been a poor game
And another fine save from Tomasz to tip away a goalbound Rhodes header
Another good save from Kuszczak to deny Kazim-Richards. I'm afraid I just can't see where an equaliser is coming form.
First shot on target for Albion and first save home keeper Jake Kean has had to make, the effort coming from Hoskins. Buckley and Bridcutt have joined Barnes in the book by the way
Kazim-Richards shot just past the post from 25 yards.
Martin Olsson shot harmlessly over the bar. Hoskins on for Barnes
Blackburn's Martin Olsson booked although ref initially called over his twin brother Markus. Still nothing to test the home keeper
Double change for Albion, Buckley on for Vicente and CMS on for Orlandi.
Crowd 12,230 (about 350 Albion but to be confirmed)
No changes for the second half but Albion need to alter something because it's not working at the moment
Second half about to get under way ...
Just remind you we are subject to a three-minute reporting delay under Football League rules. I'm tweeting too which is not subject to any restrictions @HowardGriggs
Albion are playing four Spaniards and a Spanish style frontline. The football is pretty but the Blackburn keeper has not been called into action yet
That's half-time. A big blow to Albion as they fall behind just before the interval. It was the linesman who signalled a penalty. Plenty of work to do now
Blackburn take the lead as Adam El-Abd is penalised for a foul on Pedersen and RHODES dispatches the penalty
Kuszczak makes another fine save, this time pushing away a shot from Pedersen. There is little between the teams but Albion's keeper has twice done well now
Blackburn's free-kick conceded count rising quick. They are fast into the tackle, trying to stop Albion from playing
Vicente tees up Bridcutt who floats a shot past the far upright
Barnes header off target after strong run by Bridge
First chance to Blackburn and Kuszczak makes a good save low down to push Lowe's shot wide for a corner. 15mins
10 mins played. Vicente showing some nice touches, dropping deep from central striker role
Albion knocking the ball around well but nothing happened yet here
No chances so far but we will have to watch for the pace of Markus Olsson who looks lively
Looks like 4-1-2-3 so far with David, Vicente and Barnes as the front three
The game is under way, Albion kicking towards their own supporters in the first half ...
Teams are on the way out ...
As soon as they start I will let you know exactly how Albion are lining up. Kazim-Richards plays for Blackburn who include twins Martin and Markus Olsson (not Magnus as first typed!)
Blackburn: Kean; Kane, Dann, Hanley, Martin Olsson; Pedersen, Lowe, Murphy, Magnus Olsson; Kazim-Richards, Rhodes. Subs: Givet, Fabio Nunes, Dunn, Nuno Gomes, Rochina, Goodwillie, Usai.
Two changes for Blackburn as Magnus Olsson and Morten Gamst Pedersen return in place of Simon Vukcevic and Ruben Rochina
It looks like Vicente will play as the central striker in place of CMS, which was how it finished at Birmingham.
Albion: Kuszczak; Calderon, Greer, El-Abd, Bridge; Bridcutt, Dicker, Orlandi; David, Vicente, Barnes. Subs: Painter, Hammond, LuaLua, Buckley, Hoskins,Mackail-Smith, Ankergren.
Vicente starts along with Dicker in place of CMS and Hammond. Still no Ulloa
There is no team news yet but we are expecting it shortly. Also no news from Albion yet on whether Ulloa has received his international clearance.
Thanks for joining me. Let's hope I will be able to tell you about an Albion win at Blackburn tonight. The temperature was -3 when we arrived here at 5pm but no falling snow.
