Ulloa strikes but Albion bow out
5:09pm Saturday 26th January 2013 in Albion By Brian Owen
Leo Ulloa scored on his Albion debut today – but his side were denied an FA Cup replay by Theo Walcott’s late deflected winner.
Walcott came off the bench to volley the 85th-minute clincher as Arsenal won 3-2 in a pulsating fourth round tie at The Amex.
The Seagulls twice came from behind to cancel out goals by the outstanding Olivier Giroud.
Ashley Barnes headed home a David Lopez corner on 33 minutes in response to Giroud’s glorious 16th-minute finish into the top corner.
Giroud ran on to Abou Diaby’s pass to thrash a volley past Casper Ankergren on 57 minutes.
But Ulloa replied six minutes later with a diving header right in front of the North Stand from Barnes’ terrific cross.
Walcott and Jack Wilshere made an impact coming off the bench but the clincher had a bit of luck about it.
Ankergren, who made a handful of good saves, could only punch a corner away as far as Walcott and his volley deflected in off Adam El-Abd.

But the team were incredible, the feeling of pride is amazing,we were absolutely fantastic, how many premier teams will give a very Strong Arsenal side as much trouble as we did this season?.
At 5`8`` i always feel 6`6`` on saturdays, but after todays display ,i will have to bend down to get through the door,...Brilliant lads. UTA

Like a few others, I would have liked for Kuz to have played today, it may not have made much difference but I'd like to think he may have helped keep one of the Arsenal goals out.
I really hope that both Greer and Buckley will be fit enough for the next Championship match after leaving the field prematurely today, they were missed when they went off and it certainly didn't help GP what with the reshuffle that had to happen.
I believe that had we have kept both of the injured guys on the pitch then we would have held out and even possibly had a real go towards the end by bringing on Cms, Vicente and Lua Lua to try and grab the win, wasn't to be though so let's just hope for quick recoveries.
Impressed with our new boy today, touch was good and he linked play very well. Very much looking forward to seeing him some more. Good goal too.
Roll on Wednesday (Sheffield) and a similar performance against a lesser opponent.

Very poor in some departments, wallower was like a pig in **** when he stooped down to score that goal but at least thats better than craig mcfail-smith can do. hell Abd was left for dead by walcott on many occasions, no wonder he has to resort to pulling and pushing everyone.... absolute liability...... Fantastic occasion, amazing atmosphere, great effort by the team and definitely not disgraced! Ulloa in my opinion was our best player.. He showed a great all round game! Can't help to think that we may have won if we had Tomasz Kuszczak in goal? Casper Ankergren was awful and cost us the game in my opinion, all 3 goals conceded, he was at fault! Oh well onwards and upwards! Seagulls

Now look forward to seeing Ulloa playing alongside CMS/Hoskins as that's what Gus has been saying he's needed for the last year!
Good luck to the Arsenal for rest of the season. A great club and I thought their fans were fantastic today. As ours were too. Thanks for a superb day apart from the result.

Great hear, effort and skill.
Good to see the new big man hit the target. Injuries hampered us sadly, but I felt we gave it our all and were just lacking in a little sot of luck come the finish.
Well played Albion. Now take that form onto the Champipnship! UTA
