Dean Hammond insists Albion fear no one as they chase a place in the Premier League.

The Seagulls are currently seventh in the Championship and four points off the play-offs after Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Blackburn.

That gap could increase on Saturday when Albion are not playing due to Barnsley’s continuing involvement in the FA Cup while five of the six sides above them are in league action.

It means the pressure could be on as Gus Poyet’s side head to leaders Cardiff when they return to action next Tuesday.

Cardiff have only lost once at home in the league all season but Hammond, above, is certainly not daunted by a trip to Wales, particularly after the way Albion played against Blackburn.

He said: “We are confident of any game we play in this division. We are a good team.

“Cardiff are having a great season. They are the best team in the league because they are top of the league but we don’t fear anyone.

“If we perform like we did on Tuesday for the remainder of the season, we will be there or thereabouts.

“We are still confident we can achieve what we want to do. There are 15 games left, we are four points off the play-offs, we have got a target.

“I know it is boring to say it but you have to take one game at a time and our next game is Cardiff.”
