Will Buckley has no regrets about pledging his future to Albion as he prepares for high Noone against Championship leaders Cardiff City.

The Seagulls head to Wales tomorrow night with Buckley’s former wing rival and team-mate Craig Noone well on course for the Premier League following his £1 million plus move in August.

Buckley, who agreed a new four-and-a-half year deal last month, said: “That’s why I signed the new contract, because I want to be here and I want success at Brighton with Premier League football. We are heading in the right direction but we need to make sure this season we give it a good go during the run-in and give ourselves a really good chance of getting in the top six.

“Nooney has done brilliantly since he’s gone there and obviously it has proved to be a good move for his career. A few of the lads will have a word with him and tell him to be not too much in the game!

“In football there are massive changes from week to week. We were probably favourites at one stage to be above Cardiff, so it can be different at different times of the season, but it has worked out well for Nooney and he did well for this club, so we should just wish him all the best.”

Albion face Lancing at Culver Road tonight in their rearranged Sussex Senior Cup tie (7.45pm).
