Dean Hammond has won his fitness battle for Albion – and Vicente is back in the side.

Hammond has overcome a thigh muscle problem sustained in the midweek win at Cardiff to start at home to Burnley in bitterly cold conditions at The Amex today.

His presence is crucial given that fellow midfielder Liam Bridcutt starts a two-match ban after picking up his tenth booking of the season in the impressive 2-0 win in South Wales on Tuesday.

Gary Dicker comes into midfield in Bridcutt’s place.

Vicente replaces Will Buckley while Gordon Greer is among the subs on his return from injury.

Bruno captains the Seagulls today.

Albion are chasing the third win in four games which would take them into the play-off places, albeit maybe just briefly.

They are currently two points behind sixth-placed Middlesbrough, whose game at home to Millwall kicks off at 5.20pm.

Burnley come south chasing a first win in five games.

They welcome back forward Danny Ings among their subs after a hamstring strain.
