Gus Poyet has thanked his hat-trick striker for heading off another tense finish at The Amex.
Leo Ulloa completed a treble to help Albion to a 4-1 win at home to Huddersfield.
The Seagulls were being held at 1-1 until Ulloa put them ahead for the second time in the game in the 76th minute with a classic downward header.
Poyet said: “He scored against Arsenal and played well, he scored at Cardiff but I think the second goal showed why we signed him.
“You just put the corner in there and get up, timing, jump, header, the angle, the power. Everything was there.
“Until then it was the same old story. One shot on target from the opposition, one goal.
“We were on top and couldn’t score the second.
“It was important Leo stood up and the team stood up and made a difference.
“We were able to relax in the last ten minutes for the first time in I don’t know how many months."
