Albion are chasing a fourth successive win and clean sheet against Bristol City tonight.

They have dominated the Robins in the last 18 months to repay City, who previously beat them three times in a season without conceding a goal.

City have managed just one win and one goal in the last five home games against the Seagulls dating back more than 20 years.

They won 1-0 at Ashton Gate in the match which led to Mark McGhee’s exit as Albion boss in the early weeks of 2006-07 thanks to a Scott Brown goal.

City added 2-0 wins later that season in Bristol in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and at Withdean in League One as they headed towards promotion. Phil Jevons scored twice and Albion midfielder Tommy Fraser was sent-off in that league game.

Albion sent about redressing the balance in the early stages of last season when Ashley Barnes grabbed a late winner at Ashton Gate. They have since won 2-0 twice at The Amex.

The last five league meetings at Ashton Gate have produced just four goals, three of them by Albion.
