Albion have confirmed they have received no contact from Tottenham about groundsharing.

Spurs need a temporary home for the 2017-18 season after being told their planned new stadium is unlikely to be ready in time.

They have been speculatively linked with the Amex.

Albion chairman Tony Bloom told a fans’ forum last week: “I read it in the Evening Standard but we’ve had no contact from Tottenham Hotspur. I don’t believe that is likely. Until they approach us it’s not something I’d even want to consider.”

The Seagulls today confirmed to The Argus that was still the case and the possibility of Spurs playing at the Amex had not been discussed.

Wembley and Milton Keynes are reportedly potential venues for Spurs while they are between stadia.

Albion have played hosts to Tottenham before, which could be at the origin of some of the speculation.
