Albion could be heading for a date dispute in the Capital One Cup against Spurs.

The last 16 tie for Sami Hyypia's Seagulls at White Hart Lane is scheduled for the week commencing Monday October 27.

Albion go to Bournemouth live on Sky on Friday October 31 after a visit from Rotherham the previous Saturday, so they will prefer the Tottenham tie to take place on Tuesday October 28.

Spurs, involved in the Europa League, entertain Newcastle on Sunday October 26 and are away to Aston Villa the following Sunday, so they will want the clash against the Seagulls to be staged on Wednesday October 29.

Albion faced a similar scenario in their first season at the Amex in 2011-12. They met Hyypia's former club Liverpool at home in the third round of the competition on a Wednesday night before tackling Leeds in another home fixture televised by Sky just 48 hours later.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino made eleven changes for their 3-1 comeback win at home last night against Championship leaders Nottingham Forest, Albion's hosts on Saturday.

Inigo Calderon, red-carded in the closing stages of the Seagulls' victory at Burton and suspended for three matches, will not be available again now until the visit of Middlesbrough on October 18 after the next international break.

The Capital One Cup draw has guaranteed at least three Premier League clubs in the quarter-finals, plus one from both the Championship and League One.

Full draw: Bournemouth v West Brom, Fulham v Derby, Liverpool v Swansea, Man City v Newcastle, MK Dons v Sheff Utd, Shrewsbury v Chelsea, Stoke v Southampton, Tottenham v Brighton.
