Albion boss Sami Hyypia is sticking to his guns in a bid to topple leaders Nottingham Forest.

Hyypia has no special plans to halt Forest’s early charge at the City Ground or the Championship’s hottest marksman Britt Assombalonga.

The Seagulls have got used to teams setting up to stop them at the Amex.

Hyypia will not be following suit today against Forest and Assombalonga, who has already scored eight goals.

He was on target for his former club Peterborough against Albion in a pre-season friendly before a £5.5 million move and hit a hat-trick in the last home game when Forest put five past Fulham.

Hyypia said: “You obviously analyse the opposition but you can’t change the way you are thinking just for one player. It’s a good team we are facing.

“Of course you have got individuals who are very dangerous and have a lot of quality but we are not changing a lot. I like to think who ever we play we have a certain system.”

Hyypia is also determined to maintain his rotation policy. He made nine changes for Wednesday’s 3-0 victory at Burton Albion in the Capital One Cup.

“Everything is fine when you win,” he said. “But if you make so many changes and you lose then everyone thinks you are a madman and it’s your fault.

“That’s something you think of but I’m not afraid of that.

“I know that some decisions might not be decisions that others would make.”
