Norwich boss Neil Adams reckons Elliott Bennett deserves a chance to play first-team football again.

But he has stressed he does not see the winger's likely loan move to Albion as the fore-runner to something more permanent.

Adams revealed Bennett was heading south to discuss a short-term deal as he spoke to reporters after Norwich beat Bolton at Carrow Road tonight - a result which keeps the Seagulls out of the drop zone.

The City boss told BBC Radio Norfolk: "It will be a short term loan move but I think it's good for all parties. He needs to be playing. He's not in the 18 at the moment.

"We will probably know more if and when it's tied up tomorrow but, at the moment, he is on his way down to Brighton to discuss a possible loan move."

He added: "Elliott deserves a chance to play first-team football and obviously it's his former club so it will suit him.

"At the minute it's just a possible move, not confirmed."

The Argus understands Bennett will be on board for an initial month by the time Wigan visit on Tuesday if all goes to plan.
