Albion manager Sami Hyypia’s future will be discussed by the Board today.

But it is not expected to result in an immediate parting of the ways.

Chairman Tony Bloom and his fellow Board members are gathering to discuss club business following the staff Christmas party at the Amex last night.

The meeting was already scheduled before the Seagulls dropped into the Championship relegation zone with consecutive defeats against Fulham at the Amex and at leaders Derby County on Saturday.

But Hyypia’s future is bound to be one of the topics of conversation.

The Finn is a hot 2-1 favourite with bookmakers Bet Victor to be the next Championship manager to leave his post after one win in the last 16 league games.

Bookies have also slashed Albion’s odds to be relegated from 18-1 at the start of the season to 4-1.

Hyypia’s side collide with fellow strugglers Millwall in a crucial clash at the Amex in front of the Sky cameras on Friday evening.

Albion, two points and two places below the visitors, have been warned to expect a backlash by Millwall’s long-serving skipper Alan Dunne following the 5-1 hammering for Ian Holloway’s team at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Millwall were 4-0 down at half-time after Holloway experimented by playing with three centre-halves.

Full-back Dunne said: “I can guarantee it won’t happen again and we won’t concede five again but the last ten years I’ve been here I think we’ve had one a year.

“I don’t know what happens but it’s just one of those things that seems to fall into place. Yes it’s unacceptable and yes it’s not right, but we have to move on from it.

“We’ve got another game on Friday, we can win that and go 16th. That’s how easily things can change in this league.”
