Elliott Bennett has revealed the example Darren Bent is setting in training as he tries to fire Albion out of relegation trouble.

Bent makes his second home appearance against Millwall tonight after joining the Seagulls on loan from Aston Villa.

The former England marksman scored on his debut against former club Fulham at the Amex and had a goal disallowed by a tight offside decision at leaders Derby last week, when he was an isolated figure up front.

Albion lost both games but Bennett has highlighted Bent's eyecatching and infectious commitment to the cause.

The winger, back on loan from Norwich for his second spell with the Seagulls, said: "He is a natural finisher, loves to score goals.

"If you watched him in training, as soon as we go out there he gets the ball and puts it in the net, because that's what he enjoys doing. He's like a kid really.

"It's the first time I've really come across Darren and I am really impressed by the way he trains, the way he carries himself. He's not here with any ego, he's here to help the team and score goals.

"You can see that in training and especially after training. He's doing his extras, he doesn't come in and go home which he easily could do. We are talking about someone who has played for England.

"I look up to him and think 'Wow, what a career'. If I could have half the career he's had I'd be very happy. He's definitely here with a very big appetite to score goals."

Millwall manager Ian Holloway, back at the Amex for the first time since steering Crystal Palace past the Seagulls in the play-offs in May 2013, is well aware of the threat from Bent.

He said: "There's one (dangerman) who springs to mind. Apparently he scores when he's asleep. They've done well to get him. It shows their ambition."
