Sam Baldock reckons Albion should have had a late penalty against Arsenal.
But the Seagulls goalscorer admitted they let slip the chance of causing an FA Cup upset.
Players and fans called for a spot-kick when Adrian Colunga’s cross was blocked by Calum Chambers’ left arm late in the Gunners’ win at the Amex.
Baldock, whose coolly taken goal got the hosts back to 3-2, said: “I could see his arm was away from his body. Those types of things are usually given.
“I don’t think he could have done anything about it but it hit his arm inside the box away from his body.
“They are usually given but on this occasion it wasn’t.”
Albion trailed 2-0 at the break before rallying but could not emulate Bradford, Middlesbrough, and Blackburn by causing a shock.
Baldock said: “I think we take certain positives from it but we are still hurting deep down.
“Mainly we are disappointed in ourselves for the first-half performance.
“We could have been another one of the teams everyone was talking about on Saturday.”
