Albion boss Chris Hughton has stood by Leon Best as his best central striker option.

Hughton has hinted Best, signed on loan from Blackburn Rovers, will start for the fourth match in succession against Leeds United at the Amex tonight.

Best has taken over from Chris O'Grady and Craig Mackail-Smith. None of them have scored in the Championship since the latter struck in the home win against Bolton Wanderers in August.

That is the only goal bagged by the trio in the second tier since May, so although Hughton was delighted with the free-scoring win at the weekend against Birmingham he is keen to see his strikers end their famines.

Hughton said: "We have got good competition at this moment between the three of them and it's about the one that can keep his form.

"It also gives me options up front. Craig particularly is a different type player to the other two.

"Do I know my best striker at the moment? Well the best striker at the moment is the one that is playing the best and is in the team but it's a good problem to have.

"We scored four at the weekend, which is nice, but it also would be nice if the strikers were able to get on the scoresheet as well."
