Craig Mackail-Smith is a slight doubt for Albion's clash against table-toppers Derby County at the Amex tomorrow night.

The striker suffered hamstring stiffness in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bolton, his second start in five days after a spell on the bench.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "Craig took a little bit of a knock on Saturday so we're still assessing him but it's certainly not bad. We will assess him again tomorrow.

"He just felt his hamstring very slightly. The good thing is it's certainly not a pull, just a little bit stiff, a consequence I think really of playing two consecutive games after being out for a while.

"it's not in effect an injury, it's stiffness, and we just need to make sure he is right and ready to go."

Leon Best, who had a fruitless loan spell at Derby earlier in the season, and Chris O'Grady are standing by if Mackail-Smith is ruled out.

Albion have no other fresh injury concerns. Bruno has recovered from groin tightness in the Bolton game and Greg Halford is available after knee trouble.
