Albion have moved a point further from the drop zone tonight - with a bit of help from Watford striker Troy Deeney.

The Seagulls are now eight points clear of 22nd-placed Wigan thanks to their goalless draw at Millwall.

Wigan blew a chance to close in on safety as their home woes continued with a 2-0 defeat to Watford.

Deeney headed home for the Hornets in the 54th minute as Wigan pushed players forward chasing the win they felt they needed.

Emmerson Boyce kept the Latics in the contest with a goal-line clearance.

But Deeney added his second in the 90th minute.

Huddersfield edged further from danger – and stayed two points clear of the Seagulls – with a dramatic draw against one of the high-flyers.

Town finished 2-2 with Norwich at the John Smith’s Stadium as Jamar Loza levelled almost on full-time for the Canaries.

Ishmael Miller fired home left-footed for Huddersfield in the 55th minute.

Wes Hoolahan levelled for the Canaries 12 minutes later after combining with Jonny Howson.

James Vaughan then thought he had grabbed the home winner five minutes into added time - but he was sent-off in the hectic finale.

Former Albion loanee Bradley Johnson had a first-half goal ruled out for handball for Norwich.

Rotherham visit Nottingham Forest tomorrow night while Fulham entertain Leeds.

Both the Millers and the Cottagers are now two points behind Albion.
