MEET baby Bruno - the boy in a big hurry who really knows how to sock it to his parents.

He was born a month early and was so eager to meet the world he had to be delivered on the kitchen floor.

His parents were so unprepared they had no clothes for him ... so they put a man's sock on his head to keep him warm.

The drama began when first-time mum Margo Bolizicco, 38, was relaxing with partner Tommy O'Grady, 46, in their local pub.

They were looking forward to having a meal after watching a rugby match on the pub TV.

But little Bruno Bolizicco O'Grady had other ideas - and Margo suddenly went into labour.

She said: "We'd just ordered our food when I started to feel an urge to push down.

"The landlady asked me how far apart my contractions were - about three minutes apart.

"It was hilarious. The entire pub was timing my contractions."

The couple decided to head for home, a five-minute walk from the Clachan Inn in Drymen, Stirlingshire.

Margo said: "Tommy phoned for an ambulance and they said it would take about half-an-hour.

"I told them I'm having the baby now'.

"I was lying on the kitchen floor and the paramedics were shouting instructions down the phone to Tommy.

"It was like something out of the movies. My friends Stephen and Laura were running around getting towels and boiling water to sterilise the scissors.

"I was frightened but I couldn't stop laughing."

Thankfully, the emergency services were able to send an ambulance from a neighbouring village and paramedics arrived just in time to deliver 6lb 2oz Bruno - just 30 minutes after the couple had left the pub.

Margo and Tommy hadn't bought any baby clothes and had to put one of Tommy's socks on Bruno's head to keep him warm.

Tommy, a car salesman, said: "It was surreal - one minute we were watching the rugby, next minute I'm holding a baby with a sock on his head!"

Mum and baby were rushed to Stirling Royal Infirmary.

Margo said: "The doctors there said it was unheard of to have a baby so quick.

"They said it was probably because I was so relaxed about the whole thing."

However, Bruno's swift arrival wasn't the first surprise he'd sprung on his parents.

Margo only found out she was pregnant at five months when she went to the GP to get vaccinations for a trekking trip to China, which she had to cancel.

She said: "I hadn't put on any weight and was still having periods. I hadn't read one book on pregnancy. I was at my first ante-natal class two days later.

"It was the quickest pregnancy and even quicker labour."

Bruno is named after Margo's late father who, ironically, worked at the Clachan Inn as a chef.
