ULRIK LAURSEN believes Rangers will have nothing to fear from their second leg trip to Osasuna's intimidating El Sadar Stadium.

The former Celt reckons Gers' regular trips across the great Old Firm divide to Parkhead will have them perfectly acclimatised for the hostility of the Spanish support in the bear pit type ground.

Laursen said: "The El Sadar is a tight little ground and although it is similar to Tynecastle it is not as steep at the sides.

"But I don't see Rangers having too much of a problem coping with the atmosphere there as they will have experienced a lot more hostility going to Parkhead two or three times a season.

"The Osasuna supporters do get behind their side, but there is not the same intensity that there is in an Old Firm game.

"In any respect Rangers have the experience in their side to cope with all of that."

Laursen added: "But on such a tight ground it will be hard to get a lot of width into the play, and that very much suits Osasuna as they are very strong right down the spine of their side.

"In that regard it will be very important to take a lead over there. In our ties with Osasuna in Spain we kept their fans quiet for spells and they did start to get a bit edgy.

"So it will be up to Rangers to be professional and stop the fans from finding their voices."

Despite spending five years playing in green and white - first for Hibs and then Celts against Gers - Laursen believes Gers should edge it into the quarter-finals.

He said: "I think you've got to look at current form and in Europe it's important any side has decent domestic results behind them. Osasuna are struggling in that respect and that is another big positive for Rangers."
