NEW YORK: Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett called for more pressure to be put on Iran after it snubbed a deadline to suspend uranium enrichment.
She said the UK would work with fellow members of the United Nations Security Council to further isolate the Middle Eastern state in the growing row over its nuclear intentions.
Her comments follow a report today by the UN's nuclear watchdog, Mohamed El Baradei, that Iran had not complied with a Security Council resolution to freeze its programme.
